please tell us the details about your car..

which car is it..

the idle up button should be for "increasing the engine's idle speed"(tell us your vehicles manufacturer and model name..to confirm these functions)

the shift lock button is used to move the gear shift lever out of P, it varies from manufacturer to manufacturer... usually if you press the brake pedal.. then you dont need to press the shift lock to move out of P.. otherwise if you cannot press the brake pedal.or if the battery is dead.. you need to press this button to move your gear selector from P to N..
