Can a clogged cabin filter be the reason for weak AC performance in Hyundai Santro?

Can a clogged cabin filter be the reason for weak AC performance in Hyundai Santro?

The AC in my Hyundai Santro has suddenly become weak, especially during hot weather in Karachi. Airflow from the vents feels low. Could this be due to a blocked cabin filter caused by dust and pollution, o r is it a common AC issue in older Santro models?

Yes—if your Santro’s airflow from the vents is weak, a clogged cabin filter is one of the primary suspects. Dust, pollution, and moisture in Pakistan especially Karachi and Lahore cause the cabin filter to clog quickly, reducing the amount of air the blower can push through the vents.

But keep in mind: older Santro models also have AC issues unrelated to the cabin filter, including:

Weak compressor due to age

Low refrigerant gas leakage

Dirty condenser

Weak blower motor

Choked evaporator coil

If airflow is low but the air is still cold, it’s usually the cabin filter.
If airflow is normal but cooling is weak, it’s usually gas o r compressor-related.
