Can a faulty thermostat valve cause overheating in Changan Karvaan?

In many cases, mechanics blame a stuck thermostat for engine overheating. Is this part commonly failing in the Karvaan, o r is it just poor coolant flow that creates the problem?

Yes, a stuck thermostat can block coolant flow and cause rapid engine overheating. While not extremely common, faulty thermostat valves do fail occasionally, especially if:

Coolant isn’t changed regularly

Rust and scaling builds up

Many mechanics in Pakistan even remove the thermostat entirely to avoid the risk, but this can harm cold start efficiency and fuel economy.
