Can faulty valve cover gaskets cause ignition-related oil leaks in the Oshan X7?

A friend with an Oshan X7 had to replace his valve cover gasket due to oil leaking into the spark plug area. Is this a common fault in this engine type, especially after 40,000–50,000 km? Should I proactively check for this issue, especially if I notice engine vibration o r decreased performance?

Absolutely. The valve cover gasket seals the top of the engine and prevents oil from escaping. Over time, due to high engine temperatures, vibrations, and dust exposure common in Pakistani environments, the gasket can become brittle and start leaking.

When this happens:

Oil drips into the spark plug tube

Ignition coils become soaked and may fail

Misfires and check engine lights become common

What to do:

Replace the valve cover gasket and spark plug tube seals

Use high-quality gaskets OEM recommended

Have the technician torque the valve cover bolts to the proper specification
