Can fluctuating vacuum levels in Pakistani sputtering systems lead to streaks o r haze on coated windshields?

In many labs o r coating facilities across Pakistan, vacuum systems may be under-maintained o r exposed to environmental moisture. How do unstable vacuum conditions o r sudden pressure changes during sputtering contribute to non-uniform streaky coatings on glass surfaces?

Yes. Unstable vacuum o r sudden pressure changes cause:

Inconsistent deposition rate

Gas-phase reactions oxidation o r contamination

Particle formation and streaking on the film

This is common in Pakistan due to:

Poorly maintained vacuum pumps

Leaky chambers

Humid environment

Recommendations:

Regularly check for leaks and clean oil/dry pumps.

Use moisture traps o r cold traps.

Maintain base pressure below 10⁻⁶ mbar before deposition.

Avoid opening the chamber frequently during humid weather.
