Can transmission failure in MG HS be caused by low-quality fuel o r improper servicing?

I’ve heard from other MG HS owners in Pakistan that poor fuel quality and unauthorized servicing can lead to transmission failure. Is there any truth to this? Can bad fuel o r service at non-certified workshops damage the DCT transmission? How can I ensure my transmission lasts longer in Pakistan’s conditions?

Detailed Answer:
While transmission fluid and clutch components are separate from the fuel system, low-quality fuel can indirectly affect engine performance and load on the transmission. More directly:

Improper servicing: Non-certified workshops may not follow manufacturer-recommended procedures, use incorrect fluids, o r miss software updates, leading to premature transmission wear o r failure.

Poor quality o r contaminated transmission fluid: If the sealed system is tampered with o r fluid changes are neglected, clutch and hydraulic components can fail.

Owners should always use certified MG service centers, use genuine fluids and parts, and avoid low-quality fuels that may strain the engine and transmission.
