Car not starting after wash

hi, today i washed my car, also engine area,
Its Mehran 2001, some times it starts on first self, and after that i started the car for some time so that any water will evaporate.
some times it starts on first self and mostly it does not. like battery is dead.
please help me what is the problem ???
if i start the car after 15-20 mins it starts on first self and when i stops and again try to start it does not , seems like battery is dead etc.

i also want to know that when car is started i remove the battery terminal , it stops, is this normal ??? shouldn't it run of alternator / car generator ??
