Changan Karvaan Battery Drains Overnight – Anyone Else Facing This

I recently noticed that my Changan Karvaan’s battery drains completely if I leave it parked overnight, even though all lights and accessories are turned off. It’s a 2022 model with no major modifications. I’m wondering if this is a wiring issue, a faulty alternator, o r a battery quality problem.
Has anyone else experienced overnight battery drainage in their Karvaan? What was the root cause in your case?

Yes, this issue has been reported by other users. Common causes include:

Parasitic drain: Faulty wiring o r a component that keeps drawing current when the car is off e.g., dome light circuit, stereo memory, etc..

Faulty alternator diode: If a diode inside the alternator fails, it can drain the battery even when the engine is off.

Old/cheap battery: OEM batteries sometimes fail prematurely.

Solution:

Get a parasitic draw test done by a good electrician.

Check for aftermarket device wiring.

Consider replacing the battery if it’s weak o r swollen.
