Changing radiator water
Changing radiator water
i have cultus 06 model 2 years and 60000 km driven. i wana ask that after how much time its radiator water should be changed? and wot is the proper way to drain it out and fill again. i know there is a drainage valve at the bottom. i wana know any specific care/technique or things i should take care of? should i use pressured water or normal water. and which one is the best coolent for it.
btw my car isnt heating up at all everything is going fine but i see particles in radiator water and i think a periodic maintenance is better what do u think?

I think you should drain and refil now.
procedure is simple...If you can manage, reverse flushing is better. It goes like this..
open Radiator cap and also drain in the bottom of radiator, when old coolent is out.put a water hose(management comes at this point) at the bottom tap with some pipes of suitable thickness let the water flow and wash the radiator in the opposite direction of normal flow..i,e from bottom to the top....you will see a lot of deposits flowing out of the filler cap..when water becomes clear stop close tap(at the bottom) and refil...
This will partially flush the system but will be good enough..
another method is to drain a little coolant and fill it with radiator cleaner and run car for 10/15 min (follow the direction on the can)and then go for procedure described above...
if your car does not have thermostat valve ,then you can start the engine and let it idle so all the dirty coolant in the engine block is also flushed...
and refil with some good quality coolant...
Simple..
Best of luck.
