Civic Ring. OIL reduction problem
Civic Ring. OIL reduction problem
The car is a honda civic 97 VTI 180 k done
the car starts to burn oil
when i drive my car above 100. CONTINOUSLY.
the oil level also gets reduced.
no temperature increase.no performance decrase.
but when i dont drive my car above 100 km/h or (rpm above 3.3 ) for a long time the oil does 1400 some times 2500 kms.
one thing more.
when i start the engine from cold.
its gives whitish smoke with mist and some times water droplets(wich icreses with increse in rpm) from the exhast muffler.
and after running for some kms it gets fine.
does the car have a piston ring problem.
or oil ring problem ( are these rings seperate things or same thing with different name.)
how can i rectify the problem.
what is the cost of new oil rings and pistons rings.
is this a BIG job will the engine be disassmeled competly.
any specialist for this job in lahore,
i asked the pit sho mechanic .
the mechanic told me that it will take 2000 to change the rings(now i dont know about wich rings he was talikg about)

180K is enough for the old piston rings now they need replacement. The best place to get them change is Honda pit as these are EFI cars and if anything goes wrong to any computerized engine part by ordinary mechanics you will be in trouble as these cars has very expensive computer control units.
