CNG Kits Selection Tips

CNG Kits

(i) There are Three Type of Fuel Injection

(i1) Carburettor (Mehran, Alto etc)
(i2) Single Injector Throttle Body EFi (Daewoo Racer etc)
(i3) Multipoint EFi (Chevy, Santro etc)


(d) There are Different types of Electronic Distribution

(d1) Coil Type / Conventional (Mehran, Alto, Daewoo Racer)
(d2) Distributorless (Santro)
(d3) Optical Sensor Distributor (Chevrolet)
(d4) Others

There main Components of CNG Kits:-

(c1) Cylinders
(c2) Pressure Reducers
(c3) Emulators
(c4) Timing Advance Processors
(c5) CNG Injectors
(c6) CNG ECU
(c7) Mixers

To select the kit appropriate for your Car you must know (i) and (d)

CNG kits available in pakistan are

(kit1) Cylinders , Reducers, Mixers
(kit2) (kit1) + Emulators + Timing Advance Processor


(kit1) suits (i1) but it soes not cater for (d) as TAP are missing, So you have to buy TAPs or Keep complaining that CNG has Low Pick, and not performing well, starting problems etc


(kit2) suits (i2) (d2) (d3)

CNG kits for MPFI use (c5) and (c6) and are not being imported to pakistan or people are not aware so they install eighther (kit1) or (kit2) which is not designed for MPFI

In Petrol EFI vehicles outperforms Carbs
In Petrol MPFI vehicles outperforms EFI

In CNG EFi vehicles has no apparent benefit over Carbs, as In CNG The Carb is not functioning, Rest of engine is perorming the same, EFi ECU is fooled by intstalling Emulators and it sees as if injector(s) is working whereas its not. Emission Control Features are also not working.

In MPFI vehicles if you install (kit1) you need to install (c3) to stop injectors injecting petrol in Cng mode or (kit2), Plus you install TAP to boost performance. Its ok but if your vehicle has plastic intake manifold can get damaged on a single backfire, so be careful.

In MPFI vehicles you need to install (kit3), ......

What is kit3? not listed above? yes as i couldnt see a pakistani supplier of it, kit3 is

(kit3) (kit2) + CNG Injectors + CNG Rails (if reqd) + CNG ECU

Now thats state of the Art because you get the benefits of Emssion Control and performace thru CNG ECU
and your CNG is injected at the Cylinder not in the manifold, so you are not worried about backfire. That even TBi-EFi cannot ensure.


Its just a matter of awareness in pakistan, So my Point is 'Install a Correct Kit' Accordingly

Nice Info yaar but same thing....TAP TAP TAP...how i get it...i call my CNG installer as i am in karachi u known about STANLEY House...he is the 1st installer of CNG in pakistan....so he tell me that he didi'nt have it and tell me to ask from Friends CNG...another BIG name in CNG conversion centres...so i have to ask them.....
tell me that advancer for all distributor cars are different or same....
