Cold Air Intake effect

Cold Air Intake effect

Hi guys, i was reading somewhere online that if you just add a coldair intake, it not only increases HP at higher revs, but it also increase fuel average by about 50 MPG that is if driven normally.
Can anyone clarify? I thought if you add a cold air intake, your MPG drops!

I am talking with standard exhaust piping.

only problem is that while installing that cold air intake, ur gonna mess up the factory intake system, which is tuned to give high intake pressures due to resonance at certain rpms, usually low end torque,

which means u will be driving at higher rpms, consuming more petrol, for daily drivin, i dont recommend u to such changes to original faactory settings.

it will only help at higher rpms, when the engine suffocates.
