COLD AIR INTAKE UNIT

what is COLD AIR INTAKE UNIT? and is it harmfull for stock car engine? i have toyota gli. and what are drawbacks of this? also suggest me a brand.

A Cold Air intake is slightly different from simple air in take Unit...

Comparson:
Simple Air INtake suck air and direct it to the engine with somewhat restriction..

Cold Air Intake Suck air with less restriction.. then coold the air and then send it to the engine..

Advantages: It increases engine power.... Increases fuel economy... Increases engine life by keeping it at a lower temperature...
This upgrade is a good upgrade for any engine..

Disadvantages: Usually very costly.. No other dis-advantages that I know off...
