Considering a 2UZ Swap for My 2004 FJ120
Hey,
I’ve got a 2004 FJ120 with a 5VZ engine that I’ve been using for a while. It’s a solid all-terrain vehicle but feels a bit underpowered.
I’m not looking to upgrade to a newer model because of budget constraints, but I’m thinking about either getting a 2006 FJ120 with a 1GR engine o r swapping in a 2UZ engine. I know the swap won’t be a simple plug-and-play, but since the GX470 came with the 2UZ, what should I be prepared for?
Thanks in advance!

Wasalam,
It’s probably better to buy a 120 series with a 1GR engine already in it rather than swapping your engine. Swaps are costly and time-consuming, and with engine prices so high, you might end up spending more than just buying a vehicle with the engine you want.
