Converter help!

hi guys! need experts advices on use of CONVERTER! i hav com to know that one can use 220 volt home speakers on car's 12 v batter by using CONVERTER TYPE THING!
so the qeustion is this that IS IT POOSIBLE TO DO SO??

if YES then wat i need for all this set up! well i hav edifier 2.1 speakers as shown in the following pic!

dont worry.............u can connect these speakers in ur car

First u need a Inverter which converts DC voltage frm ur car battery to AC...........so that ur speakers can plug in....

Second u need a Head Unit wid Aux Input..........so u can connect the standard 3.5mm cable in it
