Converting 2004 Corolla 2.0D into XLi. Need Suggestions

Hi everybody.

I wish to convert its engine to a petrol one. suggest whether to buy the one in local XLi, or the imported X-Assista engine, or shud i drive the same 2.0D? my engine needs overhauling and estimates an expenditure of 30,000 approx.

Suggestions plz. Please give approx prices as well..

I had a 2.d 2004 about 3 months back with overhauled engine. In my experience the diesel engine after over-hauling looses the touch. It gets a bit more noisy and pickup is slightly reduced not to mention the life of engine is also reduced ... all due to substandard parts. 30k is a vague estimate keep atleast 40k in mind if overhauling....
Now ur other question ... practically putting a petrol engine may be economical in the long run, but you'll not get any resale benefits.
If I were in ur place i would either opt for over hauling or sell the car and then buy a petrol one.
