Cultus Engine Overhaul

I found a week ago that my cultus engine has changed its voice. Today i took it to a workshop there mechanic found that it had little engine oil. He poured engine oil into it and after 10 minutes engine has turned back to its original voice. but mechanic said that due to this oil-less driving, some inner parts of engine are disturbed and i need to overhaul the engine to avoid further damage.
I want to confirm that whether he is telling the truth or just a game to find business. My cultus is VXL 2002 model with cng fitted.

if you drove the car with little oil..your breaking are either dead or soon to dead.. running an engine with low oil is an eternal sin..even if you don't want to rebuild..at least take it apart and do a close inspection . This is relive you from unexpected burden in future.
