Damaged Oil Chamber? (Pic attached)
Damaged Oil Chamber? (Pic attached)
Recently on lifting up my Vitz for check up I noticed that the chamber (oil chamber) was damaged. No idea how this happened. Maybe from hitting speedbreakers which has happened twice since I bought the car.
The engine oil level is about 1/2 an inch over the F mark which could be due to the chamber pushed inwards. Should i drain out some oil till it reaches the F mark or will it be ok or should I try and replace the chamber?
I've heard that extra oil could damage the crankshaft? Any ideas?
Thanks

Just take it to the nearest mechanic and have the oil pan changed immediatly. If the dipstick is showing 1/2 inch more that means there is about 1/2quart of more oil in the engine then it should be. More oil in the engine problems and might lead to engine failure. As the crankshaft rotates it will churn the oil meaning cause it to foam just like Lassi is made, causing aeration and eventually sustained foam may form. This can lead to overheated motor oil, oxidation and a loss of oil pressure. Spongy aerated oil is hard to pump. It starves the engine and critical lubricated surfaces.
But since you have the oil pan damaged reducing the oil level will cause the engine to heat faster then usually cause oil lubricates and cools the engine as well. lower oil level means less cooling capacity.
Point being get it fixed fast and if the dent is too inside it might also have touch the crank while it was rotating.
