Difference of Plug W20EXR-U & W20 EX-U

Difference of Plug W20EXR-U & W20 EX-U

The corolla EE100 XE (model 1993 to 2000) is required to be installed with Denso W-20EXR-U plugs as per the manual. Does that 'R' mean extra resistance & only serves to stop the hissing sound in radio or it plays some role in combustion also? The cost of W20 plug with & without 'R' is Rs. 40/- People say that there is no need to install plug with 'R' & Denso W20EX-U is equally good. What is the truth??

Hello!
yeah you got it rite..R is there for Resistance and W20EX-U and W20EXR-U surely have difference.......!

For reducing electrical noise for radio, sound system etc, many modern ignition systems require resistor plugs to stop electrical noise from interfering with the vehicle's on-board electronic control units (ECUs). If non-resistor plugs are used in place of resistor ones, the result can be malfunction Resistor spark plugs should always be fitted, therefore, where specified.

SO its better to get that W20EXR-U rather than W20EX-U
Regards
