Disc drum setup vs 4wdisc

Disc drum setup vs 4wdisc

i noticed cold drums brakes especially on rear wheels work as good as disc brakes till the drum starts expansion process from usage and heat.
The above expansion should make the drum larger and leathers inside when ajdusted on cold brakes work further out to lock the drum.

result is heated disc drum setup should start locking front tires earlier, as i dont think P valve is readusting the brake oil pressure accordingly.

On other hand the disc rotor when expands makes easier for brakes to work as expansion is in micrometers towards the disc pad.

All 4 brakes in car get heated up evenly for brake difference betwwen frt rear tires does not occur.

If you use larger rims without any wheel cups/hubs that helps keep brakes cooler by letting air pass and thus you need not to use slotted drilled rotors. The advantage of drilled slotted rotor is cooler brakes by letting the air pass through especially when your has wheel cups eg: mercedes uses larger covered wheelcups in certain models so drilled rotors help stop the heavy car.

The disadvantage of slotted/drilled rotor is it will wear out pads earlier than plain rotors. Larger rotors do help smoother braking as surface contact area is increased.

Alloy rims with more airy spaces between their spokes.
