Is the engine designed more for long-distance driving rather than congested inner-city conditions like Lahore o r Karachi?

Absolutely. Like most modern sedans, the Alsvin performs better once the engine reaches optimal temperature.
But in Pakistani cities:

Trips are often under 5 km with long idle times

Engine rarely operates in fuel-efficient mode
This reduces combustion efficiency and increases consumption. The Alsvin is more suited to longer commutes o r mixed driving.
