Yes. Streaks and smears become significantly more dangerous at night, especially when facing oncoming headlights, as the light scatters through the smear lines, causing glare and reduced contrast. In rain, ineffective wiping can result in hylaning vision, where visibility is broken by lets not properly cleared. This poses a serious driving hazard, particularly on highways o r poorly lit roads.
