well duz da muffler effects da engine of da car or speed???n wot is da price of a good muffler??????plz need ur guidance....ma frend wana put a muffler on Altis...

a muffler's original purpose is to suppress sound. a stock muffler has multiple layers of baffling and insulation compound that reduces the sound that the flow of exhaust gases make.

aftermarket mufflers have lesser baffling and insualtion so they are usually loud.

unless...a muffler is attached to a full catback system...there is no performance gain and even with a full catback...there is minimal performance improvement.
