Yes. Starting under heavy load o r on inclines puts:

Extra torque demand on the motor

Strain on flywheel engagement

Can cause overheating and faster wear

It is advisable to:

Reduce load before ignition if possible

Start the engine on flat ground

Avoid cranking for more than 5 seconds
