Driving uphill on dunes, help needed!!

Hi,
I occasionally go to deserts in saudi for drifting and dunes. Last time i tried taking my dads camry on top of a dune, it got stuck. Kept trying for hours to bring it out but it just kept going deeper. Literally half of the front wheel sunk in. The car chassis was standing on the sand and the wheels were free. Later a 8.1 litre GMC had to pull us out which nearly got stuck because the car was in the middle of a dune. i am going to saudi again, soon. Basically i just need some advice on driving front wheels drive cars in deep sand and uphill dunes. Can anyone help???

I have seen guys do that quiet often in Saudi Arabia, I was a bit shocked too, I have seen cadis and chevies in sand and surprisingly they do very well ( are you referring to half moon beach?). In order to do that you have to have an uncanny ability to scan the incline/slope very accurately and concieve the contour of the dune right. If you play the momentum of your car in your favour you can easily manage small dunes and loose sand. But for extreme dunes forget it. a car can easily manage 10 to 15 degree slopes in first and second gears. dont allow your car tyres to spin at all even on small dunes and flat surfaces. This is how I managed to do it, but I had my brother in his LC behind me. it did not get stuck at all, I also had the traction system
