I am going to share my personal experience for having the ownership of E140 10th gen Corolla GLi 1.6 automatic. I bought this car in July 2011 and this car was one of the beginning model of this car. Since that date, I travelled on this car for about 250,000 kms and I have gained so much experience. I found it very decent and luxurious car and I did not feel any trouble on this car. I experienced two common o r the known faults in this car.
1. Steering Rack
My car was the initial model of Corolla GLi, which was produced in 2011, which has this issue so far and you can claim its warranty easily.
2. AC Fans
Many cars of this period has the problem of AC fan as the AC of this car does not work properly o r fans of this car stops working. In 2017, I got replaced fans, which stopped working after one and half year. The fault in fans damaged the radiator of my car and I got them replaced second time, which cost me Rs.7000. All other features of this car are fine and I am very happy with its functions.
Maintenance Cost:
All of its spare parts are easily available in the market and the prices of these spare parts are cheap and they are less expensive.
1. Oil Change:
After every 6000 kms, I get change the oil and I use Shell HX-6 10W40. The complete package of oil filter and air filter cost me about 3900 to 4000 rupees.
2. Spark plugs
I got changed the spark plug after every 80,000 km and the 4 genuine spark plug cost me about PKR 6700
3. Engine Tuning
I got my car fully tuned after every 50,000 kms and it cost me about PKR 2000 to 3000.
4. Brake and Gear Oil
I got replace the brake and gear oil after every 80,000. The cost of the brake oil is PKR 1000 and cost of gear oil is PKR 5500
5. Brake Pads
The cost of all 4 brake pads is PKR 16000
6. Suspension
The cost of all four genuine shocks from AFRIAUTO is about PKR 35000.
Fuel Consumption
The fuel consumption of this car is excellent and it gives 11 km/l in city with AC and it gives 12 km/l without AC. When you drive the car on long route with constant speed of 120 km, it gives 15 to 16 km/l fuel average with AC
The engine can produce about 120 hp at 6000 rpm and 154 nm of torque at 5200 rpm with 4 speed super transmission. The ABS brake with EBD and BA are included in its safety features.
Resale value:
If you want to check the resale value of this car, Toyota Corolla is considered best for reselling in Pakistani market. The resale value of the car can give a chance to buy it at once and after long journeys and highest mileage, it can be easily sold for about PKR 16.5 lac 17 lac.
The yearly token cost of this car is PKR 12500 and you can say that it is fuel efficient, reliable and it is powerful family sedan.
