Engine Mounts

Someone told me having bad engine mounts can decrease mileage of your car and take more petrol.

Is it also true that bad engine mounts can cause your CNG settings to go out of wack due to the engine vibration etc. I'm confused here a bit cuz installed CNG on this car, settings went out of wack every 24 hours had to be redone. Had it removed and kept it on petrol, other day a mechanic with a brain found out the engine mounts were completely destroyed and needed replacing which is why the car drank so much petrol he said and why it vibrated.

Is it possible that this was a culprit in cng problems too? Or is this a wacky idea cuz I thought engine mounts just held the engine in place.
