Engine upgrading

How to upgrade an engine to turn it into a rally car ?
Expert technical opinion are welcome.

If you're really serious about turning your car into a rally car, the engine performance is nearly the last thing to modify. Upgraded suspension and brakes and roll cage should be installed first. The body may or may not be seam welded. Higher performance oil and water coolers need to be installed to let your engine run at maximum performance without getting damaged. Believe me when I say this, the price of an engine is nothing compared to the other modifications you'll need to do.
