This topic has been discussed many times on this forum and is lengthy thus in short:-
V6 V8 V12 denotes number of engine cylinders e.g
V6 6 cylinder engine
V12 12 cylinder engine

The rest of terms are denoting different technologies
VVTI Variable Valve Timing Intelligence. In short engine has capability to advance timing when required thus boosting pick/acceleration and economy
IDSI Intelligent Dual Sequential Ignition There are two spark plugs per cylinder thus giving better feul mileage ,less starting friction and economy.
OHC or SOHC Over Head Cam or Single Over Head Cam Different terms used for same technology. There is a cam operating the valves rather than crankshaft resulting in better economy and stable timing at high rpm.
DOHC Dual Over Head Cam There are two cams instaed of one thus increasing number of valves per cylinder resulting in increased Acceleration, economy and torque.
