Exhaust Flow Increase

Exhaust Flow Increase

y friend wants to increase his car's power but doesnt want it to be LOUD. So we dont want to get all SILENCERS removed and a free flow exhaust installed.

What I thought of was that we can install a bigger cars SILENCER which is designed to flow more air with little sound. THe bigger car from which the Silencer would be taken will be 800cc greater in Engine Displacement.

This bigger car's silencer will replace the car's original silencer @ the middle of the exhaust system.

and the original silencer @ the end of the system will be replaced by a FREE FLOW Muffler.

The Exhaust Manifold will be replaced by Custom Headers and all the piping would be changed and the diameter of pipe will be increased.

I think this would increase flow ALOT and with minimal sound. What do you think ? Plz gimme a detailed answer ! lol !

Cheerz!

indeed what you are saying will allow for MUCH better flow but it will also reduce your bottom end torque since there will be minimal back pressure which is required for NA cars to produce torque down low.

If you want to decrease noise and retain flow why not just have a silencer box made to replace your current ones which has more surface area to "catch" the noise of the engine. for example, like in your diagram you fit a larger pipe and silencers you WILL get better flow but you'll still get the "**** can" sound since there will not be enough silencer to trap unwanted sounds. Ideally you'll need more silencing in the form of more surface area inside the silencer, and the best way to do that without sacrificing flow is to either fit longer silencers OR more of them..

Sorry if i havn't been clear but it's very hard to explain such things without being in front of me.
