Fixing petrol meter knob ?

hey fellas ,

i have a out of order petrol showing meter knob some time when i switch on my ignition it wont bother to move even i have half tank fill with petrol slowly slowly it went up and when i switch off my car it wont come down so i suspect its out of order any expert can guide me how to fix it or do i have to go to mechanic for that and how to check if its faulty or not as some time it works thanks in advance

well i had same problem with mehran and thats done by checking a wire gone to the oil tank
if culuts have the same wire then its an easy job just show it to an electrtion
