well... let me answer it
Intake system:
The technically correct term is an induction system and air-intake is one of the components that make it a system as whole. The intake usually consists of an airbox/restrictor box filter, hosing and other related elctronic input sensors.
Induction Kit.
usually replaces the original intake and setup to feed cold air from outside of the engine bay to increase charge density and lower charge temperature improving output.
Intercooler.
also referred to as a charge cooler,performs the task of cooling the intake charge as well by increasing the surface area and improving heat dissipation. There's two types of intercoolers.
Air to Air.
Air to Water.
Air-to-air technology is easy to install, highly effective, extremely reliable since it has no moving parts, and requires no maintenance. Air-to-water intercooler systems, on the other hand, are much more difficult to install as they contain an intercooler, a separate radiator to cool the water, a water tank, and a pump. But probably the biggest drawback to air-to-water on the street is that this technology requires the addition of ice to match the efficiency of air-to-air technology. Additionally, the requirement of ice and the possibility of pump failure or leakage means that air-to-water is also inherently less reliable.
Supercharger:
There's a detailed post about superchargers here by Racer so i'll briefly touch up on the subject. A Supercharger is a crank-driven air compressor, also called a blower. It increases atmospheric pressure in the engine to produce more horsepower.As mentioned earlier, unlike turbochargers,which work off the spent exhaust gases, the supercharger is belt/chain driven and are marginally noiser (save for the centrifugal units)produce more heat,and cause more parasitic drag that saps horsepower. For instance, the twin screw supercharger on the Mclaren Mercedes SLR uses up 120hp. On the up-side, there's no lag on shifts as they spool up immediatly.
