Getting subwoofer repaired

hello all,

I recently blew my Pioneer subwoofer (are about 15 years old and was an original Made in Japan). audio wala told me it would cost around 1000 to get repaired. This is a good option? how well will the repair be? or would I better off getting a new woofer at all?

PS: it has given some of the best bass I've ever heard.
