Hard gears in Chery QQ

Hi,
My friend had just bought Chery QQ model Dec'2005. Only 16000 KM done. He feels its gears are hard specially Ist gear. Does any body know such problem assosiated with it and its solution.

chery is absolute copy of Joy,
Still the stifness comes from Joy but in joy it smoothens up after some time. in case of chery the gears are more stiff. my advise is to check the gear oil and the shift spring. Might be the shift spring is broken and is giving problem.
if not resolved try to find some chevy mechanic and show him the car, he will probably resolve the issue.
Does he offens get this problem or it arose few times ?Does his gears stuck in some other position or not ?.
