Have you had to refill the coolant reservoir frequently without any visible external leak?

A slow leak o r internal pump problem may cause gradual coolant loss. Are you topping up coolant more often than normal?

Yes, coolant levels ping without visible leaks was a red flag. This indicated slow seepage through the water pump seal o r evaporation near the pulley, which only leaked under pressure o r when the engine was hot.
