Headlights

Headlights

Hi All

My cultus (year 2002) headlights have gotten dimmed a bit and are not as bright as lights of new cars. Also, lights are yellowish in color. What is most efficient and lost cost way to imporve brightness. Shall I get light bulbs changed? which ones to put in? I am using stock blubs, so its been 4 years.

hey man u need to clean ur head lights...first of all unplug the cables conneted to the blubs..now un mount the head lights n remove the black back rubber cover (dont try to remove the tube while the black cover is on) after removing the back cover, u'll see a clip, remove that clip n the blub will be released..but dont touch the glass part of the bulb ever, it would damage the bulb...carefully place them some where n now make a solution of surf or any other detergant n put it in the head light..now shake well n let the solution be there for a while so that it can soften the dirt caught in corners...now remove the solution n put clean water in the head light n shake well (i think u better know how to clean now)..so after that place the head lights upside down in a clean place preferably in sunlight so that all the water drains out n the headlights get dried..as far as changing the bulb/tubes is concerned, the ones which oodbalow has suggested r good but u wont notice that much difference between them n the stock 55W as long as u dont install a relay..but my brother installing a relay can cause u more problems in rains or if by any chance water gets in it..it can even destroy the whole wiring of ur car..so better not to install a relay n just change the bulbs..but again i would say that the difference would not be considerable but even then they would be better..thanx
