Heater blockage while ac working

Dear all i have Suzuki Mehran with AC and Honda Civic Vti 1999, my AC technician always ask me to block heater of both the cars while AC works, is there any + point for doing this ????

I never used to block heater in both cars and AC performance is good in both cars.
