Help: Cultus fuel pump issue

AOA all,

I am having a little problem & there has been a solution given to me by a mechanic also, but i wana have your views regarding this issue. Well the issue is...

The electronic fuel pump of Cultus (which is the same as Margalla) situated near the fuel tank has stopped working & the car is unable to start when switched on petrol. The genuine one is way too expensive which is around Rs. 2500+, my mechanic told me that i can get a Chinese one which may be around Rs. 1200 and will work fine for about a year, however interesting thing is that there is no guarantee given since its an electronic part, they say even the genuine one can go out of order and wont be covered under any sort of warranty etc.

The other thing he told me that a (kabli wala fuel pump) can be installed in the hood like Mehran, Fx etc which may be very cheep and will last longer than an electronic one.

Among these three options given to me i was thinking in favor of the chinese fuel pump, but still wana know if anyone of you (cultus owners) have tried the kabli wala fuel pump and does this alteration affects on the performance of the car??

Well, in my opinion most chinese parts work well, but since it is electronic component, we can't be too optimistic about its "qismat".

Go to auto market of Tariq Road (from Khalid bin Waleed rd side), take a left turn towards Liberty, again first left and park your car when you see the right turn. Ask for Faizoo Bhai shop, it is situated at narrow street (behind the main street). Go to him and ask for this part. He basically deals in car air con parts but he will help you in getting it at reasonable rate as he also owns a shop in Shairshah. I often get my Cultus aircon service from him so use my name (Omair) as reference. Spectra is right about Lancer part, so if you are unable to get the Cultus one, go for the Lancer's.
