HELP NEEDED ABOUT GEAR OIL

I have charade 87 (G-100)
Manufacturer recomends that API GL-3 OR SAE 80 oil should be use in transmission and GL-3 oil is not available in market can i use API GL-4 instead of API GL-3

yeah it works fine.....it must be gear oil thats for sure...!
nice to listen someone considering Tranny oil change ......
here ppl mostly consider tranny oil as oil with unlimited viscosity........i once asked mechanic.....after how many KM does Gearoil need changing...he said.....no need...just check for oil level...if its low just level it................
i think Gear oil change after 50K Km is needed......!! if not...grinding sound on downshifting occured and wearout in tranny.....!!
