Help required

salam ...
today suddenly when i switched on the a/c , the blower was working but there was no cooling .. compressor was not starting ..
i went to electrican , he checked all wiring and said "controller" is not working ..and it needs to b replaced .. he directed the ac and it started ..
He also said if i could not find controller , he will direct the ac using relay etc..

I Want experts to give suggestion on this issue..
the car is coure 1995 model!
