Honda Civic 9th Gen Repair and Maintenance! Fuel Leakage
Honda Civic 9th Gen Repair and Maintenance! Fuel Leakage
So This Honda Civic 9th Gen is not mine but it belonged to my Late Father and it was maintained by him. It has been a year since My Father Passed but now the problem is that the car has started leaking oil.
I went to the mechanic and He told me that I should change the Engine Seal which I did. But the problem still remains I also changed the oil and Everything.
So I went to that same mechanic and asked him what is wrong with the car problem is still there and He told me that I didnt tell him the main problem. I gave you a temporary fix.
The problem is your Engine is getting weak and you will have to get your engine swapped I thought a temporary fix may last for a while. But now it seems you will have to change the whole engine. I did not ask you to swap it before because I knew you could not afford it. The new Kabuli Engine costs around 150k to 200k.
So I asked a friend of mine for advice and He told me about a mechanic He said that the engine is in perfect condition and there is no fault with it. However, the seals are broken once they are fixed the problem will be solved. So I asked him to repair the seals and the was around 15k-20k I dont remember the exact figures.
But After that problem still persisted I went to him and He told me that both of the Engine Mounts are Cracked and the cost would be around 10-12k to fix it.
I went to another mechanic who told me that the seals of the engine and gear are the problems and they should be changed. He told me further that the Seals are weak therefore a car is not shifting gears properly. He floored the car and the car did change the gear but at 5000RP. He also suggested I change the gear oil and the Parts need to be serviced it would help with the performance.
First Mechanic stated that if I get the new engine it would feel like as I am driving the brand new car straight out of the dealership but the other two said that the 150k range would include Suspensions /Electric Steering, and All Seals will be replaced.
So Im confused what should I do because I dont know what to do because Im new into his field and I want to keep this memory of my father well maintained as It was maintained by him.
Any help would be appreciated!

You have to do one thing first understand your car. Because if you dont you will keep getting ripped off. You know that I know that these Mechanics are scammers literally, They will keep ripping you until you have nothing left.
Please share whether the first mechanic did a compression o r leak-down test o r not.
Because if He did not He was lying that your engine needs to be replaced. He was just gonna steal your money.
I would recommend you change the followings.
1. Valve Cover Seal
2. Cam Shaft Leak
3. Vtec Gasket Leak.
These are available and genuine in the market. The first mechanic probably tried to rip you off big time. and as for the price of these
1. Honda Valve Cover Gasket 2500-3000
2. Honda Cam Side Cap 1000-1200
3. Honda Vtec Gasket 2500-3000
Replace these and your call is new.
