An OBD-II scan is the fastest way to catch early signs of coil trouble. Look for:

P0300: Random/multiple cylinder misfire.

P0301–P0304: Cylinder-specific misfire e.g., P0302 = misfire in cylinder 2.

P0351–P0354: Ignition coil circuit failure.
