How do I know if my Oshan X7’s alternator is undercharging o r overcharging the battery?

I suspect my alternator may not be charging the battery properly. Are there warning signs o r tests I can do myself to check if the alternator is undercharging leading to battery drain o r overcharging damaging the battery?

Undercharging symptoms:

Dim interior/exterior lights.

Slow power windows o r infotainment lags.

Battery dies frequently, especially overnight.

Car struggles to start despite a good battery.

Overcharging symptoms:

Burning smell from battery.

Swollen battery casing.

Overheated electrical components.

Blown fuses o r melted wires.

DIY Check with voltmeter:

Start the engine and check battery voltage:

12.6V off = healthy battery.

13.8–14.4V engine on = normal charging.

Below 13V = undercharging.

Above 14.8V = overcharging.

If abnormal, visit a mechanic for alternator inspection.
