: How does air conditioning usage affect the fuel economy of the Hyundai Oshan X7 in Pakistan’s hot climate?

During the summer, I keep the AC on almost all the time in my Hyundai Oshan X7. Ive noticed a significant in fuel average—especially during daytime city drives. Is this normal behavior for this car? Are there any AC settings o r driving habits I should change to reduce fuel consumption in Pakistans extreme heat?

Running the AC puts additional load on the turbo engine and reduces mileage. In city traffic with AC on, expect 8–10 km/l, while without AC o r on highway you might reach 11–13 km/l

To improve efficiency:

Use recirculation mode when possible.

Park in shade and cool interior before starting.

Overheat buffer: idle for 30 seconds before shutting off turbo engine later.
