How does thermostat failure in vehicles contribute to overheating problems in Pakistan’s hot climate?

Pakistan’s extreme temperatures, especially in cities like Karachi, Multan, and Lahore, make vehicles more prone to overheating. A malfunctioning thermostat can prevent coolant from circulating properly, causing engines to overheat o r operate inefficiently. Many drivers neglect coolant system maintenance, worsening the issue. How can regular vehicle inspections and the use of quality thermostats help prevent overheating and engine damage?

Thermostat failure is a frequent cause of vehicle overheating in Pakistan, especially during the scorching summer months. The thermostat regulates coolant flow between the engine and radiator. When it gets stuck in the closed position, coolant cannot circulate properly, causing the engine to overheat. This is made worse by Pakistan’s high temperatures, traffic congestion, and lack of preventive maintenance.

To prevent overheating, vehicle owners should regularly check the cooling system, use good-quality coolant instead of plain water, and replace the thermostat periodically. Regular servicing before summer months and awareness about the importance of cooling systems can significantly reduce engine damage and heat-related vehicle breakdowns.
