How to chrome a motorcycle engine

How to chrome a motorcycle engine

I have an old american chopper and I am fully restoring it. I'd like to chrome the engine. But the chrome-plating that the people do in Lahore is sub-standard. Its cheap, gives a blue tinge. Somehow, I dont really know why, but after the engine warms up, the chrome starts turning blue and gets darker and erodes with the passage of time.

I could use sound advice from the Pakwheels members on how to tackle this issue. Thanks.

My 2 cents...

Are you thinking of chroming the steel parts or the alloy parts? If it's the alloy parts, I'd probably just buff them. I know it's not as shiny as chrome, but a good buff isn't too far off. As for the exhaust, even original chrome blues with heat.
