How to Debug my 'Bug'

How to Debug my 'Bug'

Recently I aquired a 69' model 1300cc Beetle, But have been facing some problems.
I have already asked a couple of PW "Bug Masters" to help me out with my problems, and I sincerely request all other "Bug Masters" to contribute in helping me out.

regards
autobanda

Problems I am facing are

1.Car floats, and goes in all possble directions, not ever keeping a straight line. I got bearings changed at front believe now its an alignment problem.

2. Steering makes a grating sound when turned.

3.Car pulls to left when I Brake.

4.Wheels almost lock up, when steering is at full lock.

5.Carb leaks, has a damaged diaphram, and broken throttle lever, mechanic says may have to get a new one.

6.Engine does lots of missing when cold, does not have the get up and go.

7.Rear left wheel is tilted too much inwards.

8.Front suspenion is stuck, if I pull it up, the car stays there and when I push it down the same happens.

Well thats enough for now, will keep this post going later.

Guys kindly help me out with low cost solutions, I am a little tight on cash these days.
:-)

regards
and take care

Oki so autobanda has finally thrown up a topic!! Still waiting impatiently for the pics tho.......

I would be sending short replies here as we are having frequent power breakdowns given the inclement weather in Karachi these days.

To all readers: Auto banda had sent me a pmail with more or less similar text as here....I wanted him to throw up a topic so all could read up and contribute/ learn something from here.

Here we go.............................
Waisay before I start with the 'debugging' process I must agree with what guy4u says.......

I know its going to break your heart autobanda but you should have looked harder and bought a bug with lesser issues as most importantly you have financial constraints at the moment.

Anyway I am happy for the fact that at least a poor abused bug has landed with someone who is all out interested in solving her issues and giving her some TLC!

You deserve credit for this!
