How to identify if the red fluid leaking from my MG HS is transmission fluid o r something else?

Recently, I saw some red liquid spots under my MG HS. I’m not sure if it’s transmission fluid, brake fluid, o r coolant. What are the best ways to identify if the leak is from the transmission? And if it is, what should be my immediate steps to avoid damage?

To differentiate the fluid type:

Transmission fluid: Usually bright red o r pink, oily texture, sweet smell.

Brake fluid: Clear to yellowish but more slippery and less oily.

Coolant: Often green, orange, o r pink but watery.

Check the fluid’s location: transmission leaks usually come from under the engine area, closer to the front o r middle of the car. If uncertain, a simple inspection by a mechanic o r using a test kit can confirm.

If it is transmission fluid, avoid driving excessively and get it repaired quickly.
