How to Take Care of your new Car AC?

Few of us Pakwheelers own a new car, not more than few months old. This is our first summer season, in which car AC shall be used extensively. It can be understood that proper care and regular maintenance of new AC not only prolongs its useful life, but also assures longer life of car engine itself.

Please advise us how should we take care of our new car AC? What should we do regularly, frequently and less frequently? I hope we have several experienced and seasoned Pakwheelers here who can help.

You can surely use the AC whenever you drive dayor night, no need giving it rest in night time. These machines are meant to be used in such ways and are engineered specifically. Plus they itself turn off (compressor gets trip) after a while on need, so no worries of ice formation and continuous use. Thermostat installed in the cabin does this in the cooling system.

Well, you can make sure these simple points for effective and better value:
- Keep you cars left front cabin very clean of dirt and dust.
- Keep the air mode to circulate inner air only.
- Always ask you car service man to be nice on AC and Radiator grills and not to put high pressure water on that from very near
- Keep you window glasses rolled up
- Always use good coolent in radiator
- Do not service the radiator with local guys for no good reason if its working fine. They just make the zig zag fins weaker while hard brushing for dust
- You can also use mild detergent powder solution for washing off the Radiator, AC grills and AC compressor
- Make sure that the gas level is upto the requirement in cooling system, not more not less. And always use original gas (not the fake formulated ones).
- Turn off the heating system permanently (deactivate it).
