How to use twin trip meters?

How to use twin trip meters?

With cars equipped with twin / dual trip meters usually "A" and "B" how can one use them individually?

i.e. if the purpose is to compare two gas stations how can one activate trip meter "A" after filling from one station and then on the next refill stop "A" and start using "B" so that at the end of gas after second fill one can see which station gave more miles and how many?

oh yes.. u can use it in what ever way u want...
the first meter.... to keep the original millage of the vehicle
the A one... to know the average of the vehicle per filling (in my case CNG...) for eg... i know that i have to fill the gas of Rs200 once that reading is nearing to 100..

the B thingy... to measure distance from point X to Y...
